A Florida man will spend more than a decade in prison for a deadly hit-and-run in Western North Carolina.
Court records show that 47-year-old Robert Michael Boland was found guilty of fatal hit and run, involuntary manslaughter, obstructing justice, and driving with a revoked license.
The charges stem from a crash involving a pedestrian in Brevard in October 2023. The victim, 50-year-old Roy Lee Waters, died at a local hospital a few days after the incident.
Boland is set to serve between 16 and 21 years in the North Carolina state prison system.
