RAIFORD, Fla. (WCJB) — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed death warrants for two men convicted in separate murder cases from the 1980s.
Mark Geralds, 58, is scheduled to be executed on December 9 for the stabbing death of Tressa Pettibone. Pettibone’s son discovered her body in the kitchen after returning home from school. Geralds was convicted and sentenced to death in 1990.
Richard Randolph is set to be executed on November 20 at Florida State Prison in Raiford for the 1988 murder of Ruth McCollum, a convenience store clerk in Palatka.
Both executions mark the continuation of Florida’s recent use of capital punishment under DeSantis’ administration.
