Florida Woman Panics as Non-English-Speaking Lyft Driver Stops on Train Tracks

A Florida woman’s Lyft ride turned terrifying when her driver stopped directly on train tracks — and didn’t seem to understand English.

The passenger, who shared the incident on TikTok under the username @chandelier.jones, captured the tense moment from the back seat, writing over the video: “Ain’t no [expletive] way this Lyft driver stopped on the train tracks with me in the back seat!”

According to her post, the woman noticed the car had come to a halt right on the tracks and immediately urged the driver to move. “You gotta get off the tracks,” she said in panic. “Go! Back up and get off the tracks.” However, the driver appeared confused and unresponsive, replying in a language the passenger couldn’t understand.

In her panic, the passenger even began making up words in an attempt to communicate, saying, “Backaroco rocoroso,” while filming the tracks and nervously muttering “any second,” fearing a train could appear at any moment.

Eventually, the driver moved the vehicle off the tracks, but the incident left the woman shaken. She later tagged @Lyft, writing, “Y’all need to make sure the ppl you hiring know how to speak and read English, this lady stopped on the train tracks, if I wasn’t paying attention something could of happen! I need a refund asap.”

Social Media Reactions

Viewers quickly flooded the comments with outrage and disbelief. “I’d got out the car immediately. She needs to get reported,” one person said. Another added, “It’s common sense to not stay on the tracks whether a train’s coming or not.”

Others found humor in the woman’s frantic response. “Backaroco rocoroso??? LMFAOOOOO,” one commenter joked. Another wrote, “You started casting spells,” while a third added, “Girl started speaking in tongues.”

The passenger later clarified that she couldn’t exit the vehicle because of heavy traffic, explaining that she had no safe way to get out. Fortunately, both she and the driver escaped unharmed — but the incident has sparked debate about Lyft’s driver screening and language requirements.
