Barbara Putnam of Fort Walton Beach struck it rich, claiming a $2 million top prize from the Florida Lottery’s $2,000,000 GOLD RUSH MULTIPLIER Scratch-Off game. She purchased her winning ticket at the Winn-Dixie on 99 Eglin Parkway N.W. and collected her prize on June 23 at the Lottery’s Pensacola district office.
Putnam chose a one-time lump-sum payment, receiving $1,276,000 before withholdings. The $10 game, launched in January, offers five top prizes of $2 million and has awarded over $220 million in cash prizes across 8.6 million winning tickets. The odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.41.
Scratch-off games continue to be a major part of the Florida Lottery, accounting for about 74% of ticket sales in fiscal year 2023-2024. Since their start, these games have awarded over $66.9 billion in prizes, created 2,350 millionaires, and contributed more than $20.09 billion to the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).
