GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Christopher Deona Daniels, 35, was arrested early Saturday morning after allegedly throwing a glass container through a car window, breaking it and injuring the occupant.
Around 2:18 a.m. on October 12, a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to a call at Eden Park (1310 NE 39th Avenue). The victim told police she and Daniels had argued while she was sitting in the driver’s seat of their vehicle in the apartment complex parking lot. She rolled up the window, but Daniels allegedly threw a glass container into the car, breaking the window and cutting her knee.
The victim drove away while calling 911. When officers made contact, they reported she required constant pressure to control bleeding from her knee. They also noted the broken car window and glass container inside the vehicle.
Daniels was later located and reportedly admitted, without prompting, that he had thrown something into his own vehicle. After being Mirandized, he stated he had argued with the victim, became “overheated,” and threw a glass object into the car while she was inside. He initially claimed he did it because the victim tried to hit him with the vehicle but later admitted this was false.
Daniels faces charges of aggravated battery causing bodily harm, throwing an object into a vehicle, and felony battery with a prior battery conviction. He has five felony convictions (three violent), five misdemeanor convictions (three violent), and has served two state prison sentences, most recently released in January 2025.
Judge Susanne Wilson Bullard ordered Daniels held without bail pending a hearing on the State Attorney’s motion to keep him detained until trial. If the motion is denied, bail will be determined at that hearing.
Note: Arrest reports and charges are accusations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
