Häagen-Dazs Ice Cream Bars Recalled in Mississippi and Other States Over Undeclared Wheat

(WHTM) — The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall involving Häagen-Dazs Chocolate Dark Chocolate Mini Bars sold across several states, including Mississippi, due to the presence of an undeclared wheat allergen.

According to the FDA, Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, Inc. is voluntarily recalling a limited number of these ice cream bars because they may contain wheat, which was not listed on the label.

Product Details

The recalled products were sold in 6-count packages with the following identifiers:

  • Batch code: LLA519501

  • Best By date: January 31, 2027

These bars were distributed to Kroger and Giant Eagle stores in multiple states.

  • Kroger locations: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

  • Giant Eagle locations: Indiana, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

Company Statement

Dreyer’s explained that the issue likely occurred when products containing wheat were accidentally repacked into incorrect packaging early in the production process.

“Although our investigation is ongoing, we believe products containing wheat were repacked into the incorrect packaging at the beginning of a production run,” the company said.

Health and Safety Notice

The FDA confirmed that no illnesses or injuries have been reported in connection with the recall. Additionally, no other Häagen-Dazs products are affected.

Customers with wheat allergies or sensitivities are urged not to consume the affected ice cream bars. Instead, they should discard them or return them to the store for a full refund.
