COLUMBIA, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced that intermittent daytime lane closures will begin Friday, Oct. 31, on Interstate 255 between Illinois 3 in Dupo and Illinois 3 in Columbia, weather permitting.
According to IDOT, the closures are needed to allow crews to evaluate pavement conditions along the stretch of roadway.
Motorists are advised to slow down, stay alert for changing conditions, follow all construction signs, and avoid using mobile devices while driving through the work zone.
