Lauderhill police employee arrested for alleged timecard fraud

LAUDERHILL, Fla. — A civilian employee of the Lauderhill Police Department turned herself in Sunday at the Broward Main Jail to face a felony charge linked to her job.

Authorities say 29-year-old Eunique Gibbons, a property and evidence coordinator, conspired with her supervisor to falsify her timesheets, allegedly earning nearly $6,000 for hours she never worked. Evidence from keycard logs, city vehicle GPS, and license plate readers reportedly showed that Gibbons and her supervisor, Denesha Moore, “clocked each other in and out.”

Police said Moore, who is not listed as facing charges, clocked Gibbons in 21 times from January to August 2024 when Gibbons did not actually report to work for one to seven hours. Investigators detailed a pattern in which Gibbons would clock in, spend time in the women’s locker room or her vehicle, and sometimes leave during her scheduled shift while remaining clocked in.

While Gibbons’ arrest report lists charges of grand theft, organized fraud, and official misconduct, her jail and court records currently show only a grand theft charge. She was being held on a $2,500 bond as of Monday afternoon.
