NEW YORK — Authorities have arrested a man who allegedly attacked a 28-year-old woman on a Manhattan subway, pushing her off the train and choking her as it arrived at the station.
The incident occurred early Friday on the No. 4 train in Harlem. Police said the man, 37, and the woman were strangers. It is unclear what sparked the argument or what they were fighting about.
The man pushed the woman off the train at Lexington Avenue and East 125th Street and then choked her on the platform. He was taken into custody at the scene and later charged with criminal obstruction of breathing.
The woman received treatment at the scene and is expected to be okay.
