SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — A Springfield man died Saturday after being struck by a car the previous day.
Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon identified the pedestrian as 55-year-old Walter David Arnold. Arnold was taken to HSHS St. John’s Hospital on September 19 after being hit near the intersection of South Dirksen Parkway and Rochester Road.
Arnold was pronounced dead at the hospital at 7 a.m. on September 20. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday. The Sangamon County Coroner’s Office and Springfield Police Department are investigating the incident.
