Man Found Dead in Road in Indianapolis, Investigation Underway

Indianapolis police are investigating after a man was discovered dead in the roadway on the city’s northwest side Saturday night.

Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded just before midnight on October 4 to the intersection of Cooper Road and Michigan Road following a report of a possible person struck.

Upon arrival, officers found the man lying in the road and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

IMPD Capt. Shane Foley said, “There were no vehicles on scene that were involved. While it is possible this was a crash involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian, that has not been determined at this time.”

Crash investigators continue to examine the incident.
