MDSO: Man Shot Nephew After Argument Over Women, Then Turned Gun on Himself

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A man has been arrested following a double shooting in northwest Miami-Dade.

The incident happened on Jan. 5 along the 3100 block of Northwest 28th Street, just east of Miami International Airport.

Deputies arrived to find two men who had been shot. Both were taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital and were listed in stable condition.

Investigators have charged 41-year-old Wilmer Ulloa with attempted murder and battery.

According to the arrest report, Ulloa and his nephew were driving home from work when they got into an argument “involving women.” The dispute escalated, and Ulloa, who was behind the wheel, began striking the victim several times while the car was moving.

Authorities said the victim got out and walked the rest of the way home. After he arrived, the confrontation continued until Ulloa pulled out a gun and shot him, hitting him in the shoulder.

Deputies said Ulloa then turned the gun on himself, injuring his lower jaw.

He was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Wednesday night, and his bond is listed as “to be set.”
