An investigation is underway in Miami Gardens after police said three masked men entered a home during a party and opened fire, killing two people, including a teenager.
Miami Gardens police said officers responded to reports of a shooting around 12:45 a.m. Surveillance video from the area shows people running from the home as gunfire erupted.
When officers arrived, they found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One person was taken to a hospital by ambulance, while two others were airlifted. Police said two of the victims later died, one of them a teenager.
Investigators said a party was taking place inside the home when the three masked men stormed in and began shooting.
“That’s the part that’s scary,” said one neighbor, who asked not to be identified. “Three masked men? Really? Nothing happens over here. I’ve been here since 1973.”
CBS News Miami spoke with the homeowner, who said the property had been rented through Booking.com. The company said it is looking into the incident.
“I am appalled,” said nearby resident Tangela Griffin. “These parties have been going on at least the last six months. Every week. Cars overflowing everywhere. People spilling all out into the street. I knew it was just a matter of time.”
Police said the suspects fled the scene after the shooting and remain at large. The investigation is ongoing, and no additional details were immediately available.
