New York State Police arrested a 29-year-old Massachusetts man in Steuben County following an investigation into the online exploitation of minors.
State police discovered that Estefan Henriquez had sexually explicit communications with a 14-year-old girl from Steuben County. He had also made plans to travel from Massachusetts to meet her.
Troopers spotted Henriquez’s car at a prearranged location in the Village of Canisteo, Steuben County, just before 3 a.m. Thursday. They took him into custody without incident and transported him to the Steuben County Jail.
Charges Filed Against Henriquez
Investigators charged Henriquez with the following offenses:
- Kidnapping in the second degree (sexually motivated)
- Rape in the second degree: Vaginal Sexual Contact with person under 15
- Rape in the second degree: Oral sexual contact with a person under 15
- Endangering the welfare of a child
- Attempted kidnapping in the second degree (sexually motivated)
- Attempted rape in the second degree: Vaginal sexual contact with person under 15
- Attempted rape in the second degree: Oral sexual contact with a person under 15
- Attempted endangering the welfare of a child
Investigators also reported that Henriquez had previously met the victim in person and sent numerous sexually explicit messages via social media before his arrest.
