Miami’s weather this week will bring a blend of sunshine and scattered thunderstorms as a Halloween cool front slowly approaches.
According to the National Weather Service, Sunday’s forecast calls for a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms, with highs near 87°F and east winds between 14–17 mph, gusting up to 25 mph.
Showers may continue into the night, mainly before 2 a.m., with lows around 77°F and lighter east winds.
Rain chances increase to 50% on Monday, though skies will remain mostly sunny with a high near 86°F. By Tuesday, the region should see drier and sunnier conditions, as rain chances drop to 20%.
Temperatures will gradually cool midweek, with lows near 68°F by Wednesday night under partly cloudy skies.
Along Miami’s coast, a strong sea breeze is expected. Local 10 reports that the interaction between Hurricane Melissa, currently in the Caribbean, and high pressure off the Carolinas could bring winds exceeding 30 mph. This setup will lead to a very high rip current risk and has prompted a high surf advisory through the weekend.
While Hurricane Melissa is forecast to stay well east of South Florida, Miami residents can expect rough surf and gusty winds along beaches.
By Halloween, a cold front is expected to sweep in, ushering in slightly cooler, drier weather, with daytime highs dipping below 80°F and clearer skies — a refreshing change just in time for holiday festivities
