A Miami-Dade woman was taken into custody after deputies say she assaulted her teenage daughter during a domestic dispute.
The incident occurred at their home on Southwest 135th Street, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
An arrest report states deputies spoke with the victim, who told them her mother, 35-year-old Jamika Jackson, slapped her in the face and put her in a chokehold “over cleaning a mess.”
Deputies said multiple witnesses supported the teen’s account.
According to the arrest form, Jackson admitted to slapping her daughter, throwing her to the floor, and placing her in a chokehold.
She was arrested on a felony charge of child abuse with no great bodily harm and transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
As of Wednesday morning, Jackson remains in jail. Her bond has not yet been set.
