MIAMI — A motorcyclist was critically injured Sunday evening after losing control and crashing in Southwest Miami-Dade, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
The crash happened around 5:50 p.m. near Southwest 88th Street and 138th Avenue. Investigators said an on-duty MDSO deputy saw the motorcycle speeding westbound on SW 88th Street moments before the rider lost control.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported the motorcyclist to HCA Kendall Hospital, where the rider remained in critical condition.
Authorities said only the motorcycle was involved, and no deputies took part in the crash.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is handling the investigation.
