FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) — The latest Drought Monitor shows severe drought conditions in parts of Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio, with moderate drought across much of the rest of the region.
Some rain is expected over the next week, but it likely won’t be enough to lift any drought designations.
Forecast Highlights:
-
Friday: Hot and dry with highs in the upper 80s.
-
Saturday: Partly sunny skies with only a few spotty showers possible late in the day.
-
Sunday: Rain is expected later in the day, but totals will likely be light — around a quarter of an inch or less.
-
Sunday night into Monday: A front will bring more cloud cover and scattered showers, potentially adding another quarter to half an inch of rain. Highs will be cooler, in the upper 70s to low 80s, with muggy conditions as dew points rise into the mid-60s.
-
Tuesday into Wednesday: Showers taper off, and highs remain mostly in the 70s.
Residents are advised to stay aware of changing conditions, though drought concerns are likely to persist despite the upcoming rain.
