State gas prices remain largely unchanged for the second week in a row, averaging $3.16 per gallon of regular fuel as of Monday, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Prices in New York have risen about 9 cents since last month. Over the past year, fuel prices in the state ranged from a low of $3.00 on March 17, 2025, to a high of $3.23 on Sept. 16, 2024. A year ago, the average price was slightly higher at $3.23 per gallon.
The national average for gas last week was $3.17 per gallon, making New York’s prices roughly 0.2% below the U.S. average, which has dipped slightly from $3.19 the previous week.
