A New York state woman is facing several serious charges after police say she led troopers on an early-morning pursuit. Officials also reported that the suspect was found in possession of narcotics.
On Dec. 5, troopers arrested a 20-year-old woman from Albany and charged her with fourth-degree felony possession of a controlled substance, a public health law violation, and additional offenses.
New York woman faces charges after alleged pursuit
New York State Police said in a press release that on Dec. 5, at about 1:30 a.m., troopers attempted to stop a vehicle in Albany for a traffic violation. The driver, later identified as the suspect, failed to comply, prompting a vehicle pursuit.
The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed into a guardrail at the I-90 and I-787 interchange. Troopers took the woman into custody without incident and said they discovered felony-weight narcotics inside the vehicle.
The suspect was taken in for processing and later arraigned in Albany City Court. She was released under the supervision of the Albany County Probation Department.

New York State Police arrest two in alleged domestic dispute
New York State Police said in a press release that on Dec. 12, just before 11:00 a.m., troopers responded to a reported disturbance at a business called Squeaky Clean on State Route 222 in the town of Cortlandville. The investigation led to two arrests.
Police arrested a 38-year-old man from Miami, Florida, and a 35-year-old woman, also from Miami, charging both with a Class C felony.
Investigators determined the pair were inside a vehicle when a verbal argument broke out while parked at the business. Troopers also found that they were in possession of a handgun and a magazine containing ammunition.
Authorities said neither individual had a New York State pistol permit. Both were processed and turned over to the Cortland County Jail for arraignment.
