Ohio man arrested after stolen vehicle found in Monroe County, Michigan

A 35-year-old man from Toledo was taken into custody Saturday after a vehicle reported stolen from Toledo was located in Bedford Township, Michigan.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said dispatch received a call at 8:02 a.m. from Toledo police about a stolen 2008 Nissan that had crossed into Michigan. The vehicle’s owner tracked its location and notified authorities.

A deputy spotted the car near Samaria Road and followed it until it stopped at a Sunoco gas station on Lewis Avenue in Temperance. Deputies approached the vehicle and arrested the driver.

A 28-year-old woman from Toledo, riding as a passenger, was taken home and released. It is currently unclear whether the driver will face any charges.
