One Dead, One Arrested After Sunday Night Shooting in West Point

WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) — A Sunday night shooting in West Point left one man dead and another behind bars.

According to West Point Police Chief Michael Edwards, the incident occurred around 11:00 p.m. in the Glendale Drive area after two men got into an argument over a woman.

Clay County Coroner Alvin Carter Jr. identified the victim as Joshawon Ross, 40.

Police have arrested Dennis Roberson, 45, and charged him with murder.

Chief Edwards said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident.
