Pedestrian Killed in Allen County Collision on Napoleon Road

ALLEN COUNTY, Ohio — A 40-year-old man from Elida has died after being struck by a vehicle early Thursday morning in rural Allen County.

Crash Details

  • The incident occurred just after 4:30 AM on Napoleon Road near State Route 81.

  • A 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, traveling northbound, struck the pedestrian in the northbound lane.

  • The driver, 81-year-old Merl Hall of Lafayette, was not injured.

  • The pedestrian was identified as Cody Gear, 40, of Elida, who was pronounced dead at Lima Memorial Hospital.
