A person was hospitalized and authorities are searching for a suspect after a road rage shooting on Interstate 95 in northern Miami-Dade County on Thursday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP said troopers responded to reports of a road rage incident in which someone was shot near the northbound entrance ramp from Ives Dairy Road.
When they arrived, troopers provided first aid until Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reached the scene and took the victim to HCA Aventura Hospital. Officials did not release the victim’s identity or condition.
The investigation created a major traffic jam late Thursday night. When CBS News Miami arrived, investigators were examining a silver Porsche SUV shortly after the shooting.
FHP issued a Be on the Lookout alert for the suspect’s vehicle, described only as a black Chevrolet. Authorities shared no additional details as the investigation continues.
