A person was hospitalized after being shot in Fort Lauderdale on Monday, and a suspect was detained, according to police.
Fort Lauderdale Police said officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 900 block of Northwest 7th Avenue.
During the investigation, police determined that an altercation between two individuals led to one of them being shot.
The victim was transported as a trauma alert to Broward General Medical Center. Police have not released the person’s identity or condition.
Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed blood near a bus stop at the scene of the shooting.
One person was detained as the investigation remains ongoing.
