Pittsburgh Region on Alert: 3–7 Inches of Snow Forecast This Weekend

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Winter Storm Watch for sections of east-central Ohio, southwest and western Pennsylvania, and northern West Virginia, which will last from Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon.

Forecasters warn that a developing winter storm system could bring significant snow to the region, with total accumulations ranging from 3 to 7 inches and possibly more locally, particularly in southwestern Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia.

  • Ohio: Belmont, Noble, and Monroe Counties
  • Pennsylvania: Washington, Greene, Westmoreland, and Fayette Counties
  • West Virginia: Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel, Marion, and Monongalia Counties
  • Higher Elevations: Eastern Preston and Tucker Counties, and the ridges of eastern Monongalia County

  • Preceding Advisory: A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM Thursday for the higher elevations of Westmoreland and Fayette Counties.
