Investigation continues into shooting in Orthodox Jewish area of North Miami Beach
NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Police are continuing their investigation after shots were fired in North Miami Beach.
The incident happened Saturday around 5 p.m. near 179th Terrace and 10th Avenue.
Local 10 News spoke with a woman who was outside with her children when the gunfire broke out.
“It’s terrifying, pick up a gun and shoot at a car,” she said. “We ducked behind the van, ran down the block.”
The neighborhood is a predominantly Orthodox Jewish community, and because it was Saturday afternoon — the Sabbath — many families were outside walking.
Police believe the shooting may have been connected to road rage.
They said the shooter was likely driving a Kia and expressed concern that the situation could have turned tragic.
