Police are investigating after a 32-year-old woman was found dead inside a freezer at a Dollar Tree store in Miami on Sunday morning.
MIAMI — A woman was discovered dead inside a freezer at a Dollar Tree store in Miami early Sunday, police confirmed.
Miami police responded to the store at 968 SW Eighth St. around 8 a.m. after an employee found the body.
Later Sunday afternoon, investigators identified the woman as 32-year-old Massiell Garay Sanchez.
According to police, Garay Sanchez entered the store on her own the previous night but did not purchase anything.
Investigators believe she went into a restricted, employee-only area where the freezer is located and stayed there overnight. Employees returning to the area the next morning found her unresponsive.
Police confirmed that Garay Sanchez was not an employee of the store.
Officers said the circumstances surrounding her death remain under investigation. However, authorities have ruled out foul play, stating she was not forced into the freezer.
