Possible Hit-and-Run Sends Pedestrian to Hospital in Northeast Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A pedestrian was injured in a possible hit-and-run in the Biscayne Gardens area of northeast Miami-Dade on Christmas evening.

The incident occurred near Northeast Sixth Avenue and 147th Street, prompting Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies to respond. Traffic in both directions was temporarily diverted while the scene was investigated.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue confirmed that the victim, reportedly a young man, was struck by a vehicle and transported to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital. Witnesses said the driver fled the scene, and bystanders ran to help and called police.

The victim’s current condition remains unknown, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities have not released further details at this time.
