South Florida to Enjoy Warm Weekend Before Major Cooldown Hits Early Next Week

South Florida residents can expect a warm and mostly dry weekend, but the region’s typical tropical comfort will take a sharp turn early next week when a powerful cold front brings a significant temperature drop.

Friday began mild, with morning lows in the mid to upper 70s and only a 10–20% chance of isolated showers. By late afternoon, that chance rises slightly to around 30% as highs climb into the mid-80s.

Weekend forecast: Warm, humid, and mostly dry

Saturday and Sunday will stay warm and muggy, with highs hovering around 85 to 86 degrees under partly sunny skies. Aside from a minimal 10–20% chance of afternoon showers, most of the area will remain dry—ideal for beachgoers and outdoor plans.

Cold front to bring big cooldown

The weather pattern will shift dramatically on Monday as a strong cold front moves across South Florida. The system is expected to deliver gusty north winds and a noticeable drop in both temperature and humidity. By Tuesday morning, lows will dip into the mid-50s, with wind chills making it feel closer to the 40s in some inland areas.

Marine conditions will also deteriorate starting Monday, with choppy seas and rough boating conditions likely. Daytime highs will tumble from the low 80s on Monday to the mid-70s by Tuesday, marking the coolest stretch of the season so far.

After weeks of summerlike heat, South Florida’s first real taste of fall is finally on the horizon.
