Stolen Ohio vehicle recovered in Monroe County, Michigan

MONROE COUNTY, Mich. —An Ohio man was taken into custody Saturday after a vehicle reported stolen from Toledo was found in Bedford Township, Michigan.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said dispatch received a call at 8:02 a.m. from Toledo police about a stolen 2008 Nissan entering Michigan. The vehicle’s owner tracked its location and alerted authorities.

A deputy located the car near Samaria Road and followed it until it stopped at a Sunoco gas station on Lewis Avenue in Temperance. Deputies approached and took the 35-year-old Toledo man driving the vehicle into custody.

A passenger, a 28-year-old woman from Toledo, was transported home and released. It is not yet known whether the driver will face charges.
