Illinois’ turbulent job market is set for another hit. A new state filing shows that 86 employees in Decatur will soon lose their jobs after Rising Pharma Holdings, Inc. announced a mass layoff.
According to a notice posted on the Illinois WorkNet Center website, the company — located at 1222 W. Grand Avenue in Decatur — will lay off the workers effective November 15, 2025. The reason listed is “mass layoff” under the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, which requires employers to give advance notice of significant job cuts.
Local news outlet WAND reported that Rising Pharma’s Decatur facility is closing, prompting the layoffs. The company has not yet issued an official statement.
This latest layoff pushes Illinois’ total job losses reported to the WorkNet Center to 15,348 in the past year.
