MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Three suspects face serious charges after allegedly breaking into a woman’s home, assaulting her multiple times, and threatening her life—all while deputies were nearby responding to a separate incident.
The attack occurred around 6:45 a.m. on July 16, according to an arrest report from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO). The suspects, identified as Jerry Byron, 38, Raydel Sanchez, 37, and Johanna Kuhn, 21, forced entry into the home by breaking through a back door.
Investigators said the victim initially called deputies after witnessing Byron dragging another woman into a nearby residence. While deputies were still in the area, Byron, Sanchez, and Kuhn allegedly entered the victim’s home through the backyard.
Inside the home, Sanchez reportedly grabbed the woman by her shirt, ripping it, and threatened, “B—-, you’re going to let us in here or we’re going to kill you.” Byron allegedly took the victim’s phone when she attempted to call for help.
After deputies left, the assault continued outside. Sanchez allegedly struck the victim with an umbrella, and Byron kicked her. The victim fled in her vehicle, but Sanchez reportedly followed her to another home and attempted to punch her. Upon returning home, Sanchez allegedly hit her in the back with a baseball bat before deputies arrived and took him into custody.
Kuhn was later detained after providing a statement following her Miranda rights.
All three suspects are facing burglary with assault or battery, aggravated battery, and strong-arm robbery charges.
