ABINGTON, Mass. — A routine stop at a local convenience store turned extraordinary when a Massachusetts resident scored a $1 million prize on a scratch ticket.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, The LWT Trust of Abington claimed the first $1 million grand prize in the “$1,000,000 Big Money” $5 instant ticket game.
The trust, represented by trustee Michaila Fraser, chose the one-time cash option of $650,000 before taxes.
The winning ticket was bought at Richdale Food Shops, located at 474 Market St. in Rockland. The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the lucky ticket.
The “$1,000,000 Big Money” instant game still has three remaining $1 million prizes waiting to be won.
