Truck Carrying 40,000 Pounds of Chicken Catches Fire on Ohio’s I-90

An early-morning highway fire turned heads in Ohio this week after a truck loaded with 40,000 pounds of cooked chicken went up in flames on Interstate 90.

According to Cleveland19, the fire broke out around 7 a.m. Monday as the truck traveled westbound on I-90. Videos posted to social media showed thick smoke billowing from the vehicle, forcing officials to close two of the highway’s three westbound lanes.

Fire crews managed to extinguish the blaze by 8 a.m., but cleanup took hours. The truck’s cargo was unloaded until about 2 p.m., nearly seven hours after the fire began.

Authorities said the driver escaped unharmed, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
