Two Killed in Boynton Beach Office Shooting, Suspect Found Dead After Pursuit

Two people were killed in a shooting at an office building in Boynton Beach on Monday afternoon. The suspect was later found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound following a brief police pursuit.

Boynton Beach police received a report of a shooting inside an office building near the 2400 block of High Ridge Road around 4 p.m. Officers arrived and found two individuals suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.

A suspect was quickly identified. Soon after, a resident reported a suspicious vehicle matching the suspect’s description near the 500 block of Northwest 7th Court. Officers located the vehicle and attempted a high-risk traffic stop.

The suspect failed to stop, leading officers on a short pursuit before the vehicle crashed near 133 Leisureville Boulevard. Police said the suspect was then found inside the vehicle with a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound.

WPTV’s Michael Hoffman spoke with residents in the area. Steven Kilkes, who lives on the street where the crash occurred, said he witnessed the incident.

“I saw about 10 or 15 police cars chasing it,” Kilkes said. “All of a sudden, it crashes into the tree, hits the pole, and then hits the stop sign and comes to a complete stop right here. It hit the tree so hard, the car just bounced back.”

Hoffman asked what could have happened if the tree had not been there. “I wouldn’t be here if that tree wasn’t here,” Kilkes replied.

During the investigation, multiple schools and businesses were placed on precautionary lockdowns. Police said all lockdowns have since been lifted and there is no immediate threat to the community. The investigation remains ongoing.
