Wanted Pennsylvania Man Arrested After Pursuit in Central Nebraska

HASTINGS, Neb. — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) arrested a man wanted in Pennsylvania following a high-speed pursuit in central Nebraska.

At 9:30 p.m. Thursday, NSP received information that the suspect, believed to be traveling in a Mercedes SUV, was passing through Nebraska. A trooper located the vehicle about 10 minutes later at a gas station near the Alda interchange on Interstate 80, mile marker 305. When the trooper attempted contact, the suspect drove off, ripping the fuel hose from the vehicle, prompting a pursuit.

The suspect fled southbound on Alda Road at speeds exceeding 120 mph. After several miles, he drove into a cornfield, abandoned the vehicle, and ran.

Around 11:40 p.m., Adams County Emergency Management issued an alert urging residents to stay indoors and lock doors and windows. Additional troopers, personnel, and K9 units from multiple agencies responded, and thermal drones were used to locate the suspect. He was taken into custody just after midnight Friday.

The suspect, Antonio Lindsay, 58, of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, was medically cleared and booked into Adams County Jail. He faces charges including:

  • Flight to avoid arrest

  • Willful reckless driving

  • Criminal mischief

  • Obstruction

  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

  • Failure to obey a lawful order

Lindsay was wanted in Pennsylvania for aggravated assault and other charges.

Agencies assisting NSP included the Hastings Police Department, Grand Island Police Department, Kearney Police Department, Colfax County Sheriff’s Office, Merrick County Sheriff’s Office, and Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
