Warm Friday to Usher in Unsettled Weekend Weather

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – After another summer-like day across the Stateline with sunshine and highs in the upper 80s, conditions will start to shift heading into the weekend.

Tonight will be partly cloudy with patchy fog developing by morning and a low near 61 degrees.

What’s Ahead:

  • Patchy fog early Friday under partly cloudy skies

  • Showers and storms possible late Friday afternoon, with the best chance overnight into Saturday morning

  • Cooler temperatures in the 70s arriving by the weekend

An upper-level low will move closer to northern Illinois over the next few days, ending the recent stretch of warm, dry weather. Periods of wet weather are expected to continue into early next week before conditions slowly dry out by midweek.

Highs will trend cooler next week, staying in the mid to upper 70s with overnight lows in the mid-50s to low 60s.
