Record highs were reached in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia Friday. Jacksonville tied 83 degrees, a record set in 1974. Alma, GA, set a new record at 80 degrees, beating the previous 79-degree mark from 1974. Gainesville also tied its record of 83 degrees, set in 1989.
Patchy to dense fog is expected tonight and early Saturday, especially inland. No advisories are currently in effect, but some may be issued from Highway 301 to I-75.
After a foggy start, highs Saturday will climb near record range. Cloudy skies will develop late Saturday night, bringing a slight chance of showers through around noon Sunday. Rain chances remain low at 10–20 percent, with light totals expected. Northwest winds will pick up at 10–15 mph, with gusts around 20 mph. Skies will clear during the game, setting up a much colder start to the week.
The record high for Saturday is 82 degrees, set in 1957.

Looking ahead, much colder temperatures are expected late next week, with some models suggesting a chance of snow in Georgia.
