Warmer Temperatures and Plenty of Sunshine Ahead for North Texas

A ridge of high pressure will control the weather across North Texas for most of the workweek, bringing lots of sunshine and temperatures well above average.

Breezy conditions are expected over the next few days. This is due to slight pressure drops across the Central Plains, which will tighten the pressure gradient and increase wind speeds.

With falling humidity levels, especially on Thursday, the fire weather threat will be elevated.

Election Day Forecast

Expect another mild, sunny day on Tuesday. Morning temperatures in the metroplex will start in the low to mid-50s and warm into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees by the afternoon for Election Day.

Warmth Continues Before Weekend Changes

Temperatures will continue climbing into the low 80s through the rest of the week ahead of a series of dry cold fronts expected to move in by the weekend.

The first front arrives on Friday but will have minimal impact on temperatures. A second, stronger front moves through Saturday into Sunday.

This stronger front will drop temperatures from near 80 on Saturday into the upper 60s by Sunday and early next week.
