Winter Weather Advisory: Up to 4 Inches of Snow for Ohio & Pennsylvania

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Cleveland has extended a Winter Weather Advisory for Geauga and inland Ashtabula counties in Ohio, as well as Crawford County, Pennsylvania, as lake effect snow continues through 4 a.m. Friday.

Snowfall quantities are forecast to range from 1 to 3 inches in northeast Ohio and 2 to 4 inches in northwest Pennsylvania, with higher amounts possible locally due to persistent snow bands. Wind gusts of up to 30 mph may potentially limit visibility at times.

The National Weather Service predicts, “Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous.” Rapidly shifting conditions could hinder the Thursday evening commute and any overnight travel as stronger bursts of snow move through the area.

Drivers are encouraged to slow down, allow extra travel time, and check for updated conditions at OHGO.com in Ohio or 511PA.com in Pennsylvania. The snow will stop late tonight when winds shift and lake effect activity fades.

Motorists should be cautious of patchy ice and drifting snow, particularly in rural regions and higher terrain east of Cleveland and around Meadville, Pennsylvania.
