MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A 32-year-old North Miami woman has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing a man during an argument over drug quality at a northwest Miami-Dade smoke shop, authorities said.
Desma Shaiann Flanders faces a second-degree murder charge in the death of 50-year-old Abdul S. Rolle, according to Miami-Dade jail records.
Deputies responded to the smoke shop near Northwest 27th Avenue and Northwest 45th Street around 6 a.m. Tuesday after a ShotSpotter alert detected five gunshots, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said.
Officers found Rolle lying on the shop floor with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where he later died.
Investigators said Flanders had visited the store to buy narcotics and began arguing with Rolle about the quality of the drugs. She then walked out, pulled out a gun, and fired into the shop, striking Rolle.
The shooting was captured on surveillance video from a nearby business. When questioned, Flanders denied the shooting but was later booked into the Miami-Dade Jail.
