North Central Neb. State parks get updates
LINCOLN — Guests at north-central Nebraska state parks will enjoy many improvements Plenty of improvements in Nebraska’s northcentral state parks await visitors this year. Projects completed in 2023 or to be finished in 2024 will appeal to an array of park users.
The following is a roundup of those improvements and projects:
Cedar golfers are third at MidState meet
O’NEILL - The Cedar Catholic golf team traveled to the O’Neill Country Club here for the Mid State Conference golf meet and came away with third place in the team scoring behind O’Neill and Norfolk Catholic.
HNS tracksters compete at Norfolk Catholic
NORFOLK - The Hartington-Newcastle track teams competed in the final tune up for this week’s district meet in Hartington.
The Wildcats ended up fifth in the meet with 40 points while the Lady Wildcats placed eighth with 13 points.
Quin Conner to take over LCC Bear basketball

LAUREL — Quin Conner has been assigned the boys’ basketball head coaching duties for next season, replacing Todd Erwin, who had been the Bears coach for the past decade.
Erwin put up some great numbers at LCC, including winning a state title in 2020.
Relay teams lead Cedar at Battle Creek meet
BATTLE CREEK — The Cedar Catholic Trojan and Lady Trojan track teams competed in the B-Club Invitational Track and Field Meet in Battle Creek on May 2 and both teams ended up fifth in the team standings.
